We own a lakeside cabin, and we were really in a quandary trying to figure out how to heat hot water, as the roof is not built to support a traditional vent. Our local dealer recommended a direct vent model as a good alternative. I must say that our model (a Rheem) has given us good service, and has required no repairs at all.
